Using synonyms and ontology sets

When you submit a query for processing, Engineering Workbench automatically generates a list of synonyms that might be relevant to your query.

To display a list of synonyms, more general terms or more specific terms

• Click Synonyms & Ontology Suggestions at the right of the query box (accessible on your query results page).

• To close the list of suggestions, click Synonyms & Ontology Suggestions again.

You can submit a related search that substitutes a synonym, a more general term, or a more specific term in your original query. Click a synonym, a more general term, or a more specific term in the result tab header. This word replaces the original word in your query, the query is resubmitted, and new results are displayed.

The synonyms, more general terms, and more specific terms that are listed in the tab header are matched to the words you specified in your original query, including the part of speech of each word. Noun and verb synonyms are listed separately in the header.
